Rag & Bone Treat{treated myself and bought these}

Skull Candles{not sure if these were festive or just cool decor but I love these skull candles}

Took a long weekend to celebrate my grandfather’s 80th birthday in Texas. Given the distance, I don’t get to see a lot of my family as much as I’d like to. Which makes the few times a year we see each other even more special. In addition to all the family time, the rest of it was spent enjoying delicious Tex Mex, the best donuts I’ve ever had, and of course ridiculously good BBQ (did I mention Texas has really amazing food too?).  4 more days until Halloween…Happy Monday! xxxooo

Since fall in Southern California typically means blazing hot days with cool nights ranging in the low 60’s (and my favorite time of year), I almost never get to wear a coat until mid November. Even with this fact, I own about 5 heavy coats that rarely see the light of day. So when I saw Jamie’s look – a mix of casual pieces with one statement piece – I immediately had to recreate it here. This look can transition a normal day outfit to an evening out just about anywhere. Hope y’all have a festive fall weekend! xxxooo

Halloween Oreos{a little embarrassed to admit that I went to several stores to find these Halloween Oreos}

There are a few old saying that ring true. “Never judge a book by its cover,” is one that I sadly sometimes fall prey to. Ironically, the result is often different than what I first projected, so you would think I would know better by now. Whether it’s a new restaurant, movie, or even a relationship as critical as first impressions are, are they really everything? Can we accurately judge something or someone based on cover alone? Or are our initial instincts too in the moment to be honestly logical? Food for thought…have a great Monday! xxxooo

I’m not sure if it’s my new career path or the fact that Halloween is two weeks away, but my go to items of late are all black. I have a hard time wearing anything else but dark hues during the fall season. Even when the weather represents more of summer than fall, I refuse to cater to the temperature. Somewhere people are enjoying a hot cup of coffee and bundling up to pick out pumpkins, just not this weekend in LA. Have a great weekend! xxxooo

Winter-ized Bedding

{winterized my bed with a new grey comforter and fur throw}

I’ve read the best way to get out of a rut is by helping others. In addition to volunteering at the 30th Annual AIDS Walk, I had tremendous support from friends and family raising money towards the cause. Many years ago my uncle passed away from the disease. So to say that this event hits close to home is an understatement. Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend, happy Monday! xxxooo
