Whiter Whites & Brighter Brights

{no longer is white before easter a fashion faux pas}

{bright pink belt to brighten things up}

{matching bright pink/blue high heels}

With spring arriving, that only means that summer is that much closer! So I felt like pretending it was actually here for the day. With an entire outfit of white with pops of color. I bought these shoes (GUESS) and belt (Ann Taylor) for a friends wedding to match a purse (of the same colors) from H&M. And felt like bringing them out again to spice up a regular week day. So heres to a warm, “summer”-filled weekend. xxxooo

{by far my very favorite, this would be my daily uniform, but I need this skirt}

Like most ladies out there, I am largely inspired/obsessed with Miss Carrie Bradshaw (AKA Mrs. Preston). As of lately I’ve been having a huge bug to move to New York and live the fabulous life. And for some reason my idea of myself living in NY is extremely glamorous and entirely unrealistic. I’d wear marvelous clothes, my appearance would never be altered by all that weather and walking, and I’d be just like Carrie. If only, right? Well to help feed my unrealistic mindset I’ve gathered six of my top favorite outfits by the one and only.

Must Have Mondays

{fuzzy black socks to keep warm}

{pink gradient nails just in time for spring}

{champagne cake pops I want to make for Easter}

{finally found a perfect white-t from nordstrom}

Another cold and rainy weekend. Only I was in a more out and about mood so Friday the boyfriend and I went for a romantic dinner date and then met some good friends for drinks. Saturday I had a girls night out to see the Hunger Games (never read the book(s) but loved it) and had dinner/drinks at this cool new find my friend suggested called Blue Dog. And lastly the laziest day yet, Sunday. Since it was raining all day I only left the house for brunch and spent the rest of the day internet surfing and watching Girl with the Drago Tattoo (love Rooney Mara). Happy Monday everyone. xxxooo

Fashion Fridays

[rainy day attire]

{chunky plaid scarf}

{beautiful kate spade bracelet}

{inner lining of my angel rain coat}

{black urban outfitter rain boots}

This past weekend it was really cold and rainy.  As a native southern californian its always an exciting challenge to create an outfit that doesn’t consist of sandals, jean, or any type of beach wear. So for a day filled with various indoor activities I choose many light layers.  Starting with a basic black tank, shiny black american apparel leggings, a long cozy grey sweater layered with a short sleeved tan rain coat from angel.  Finished off with black rain boots, a chunky green plaid scarf, and my black kate spade bracelet my best friend got me for my birthday last month. This coming weekend is supposed to be similar so heres to sitting by a warm fire reading the latest biography on Queen Elizabeth II. Happy friday everyone, hope you have a fabulous weekend.  xxxooo

Kony 2012

{Kony 2012 Kit]

{magazine article}

I watched this video a few week backs about this tragedy happening in Uganda. In short, this rebel leader Joseph Kony is kidnapping children and using them for his army. The girls become his “sex slaves” and the boys become his little soldiers.  He forces them to murder their parents before taking them off with him. So this incredible organization called Invisible Children are trying to make this man a house held name and bring to light all that he has done. Despite whats been in the news lately regarding one of the charities workers, the non-profit organization is really doing a lot of good things. Personally, I am always on the glass half empty side when it comes to new “trendy” causes to donate to, but I really believe that this one is important, plus all the proceeds go to helping the cause. Unfortunately, not many people are aware of this situation. So please help show your support, donate or take action on this terrible issue. They have these kits (posters, post-cards, stickers, bracelets, etc) online to order or download that allows you to take this action on yourself and make a difference. To learn more and watch the video visit Kony 2012 and help make this man a celebrity.
